A Bunch of Stitchy Stuff

First I would like to thank everyone for all the birthday wishes. I was overwhelmed by all my comments. Loved and appreciated them all. My BD week did finally end. I went to lunch with my friend, Kathy and we had a great time. Talked for hours. She gave me a beautiful piece of pottery from Ireland. I have collected pottery for years and she has enhanced my collection many times. Over the week-end a few of us went to see Mary Chapin Carpenter in concert at a beautiful venue in New Bedford, MA. The girl puts on a great show. I have done some stitching, mostly little things. Did the little squirrel from JBW. I will be putting him in a small frame, I think.
This is a LK from last year. I love the pinky lavender fabric that came with it. I will probably make it into a pin keep.
I framed Boris (yes I can frame, I just don't like it) in a plain black frame that I had in my stash. Isn't he the cutest?

A couple of weeks ago I saw Fancey Blackett on Siobhan's blog and fell for her. Had to have her. Got right on line and ordered up the pdh file. I love everything about this design. I am using 32 ct maritime white by LSL with DMC fibers. I love this fabric. It's not white at all. You see all the variations in color in the fabric. You can click on any of the pics for a better view. Below is a close up of Fancey dancing with the squirrel. How cool.

Diane, Phyllis, Dottie and I took a road trip to ABC Stitch Therapy in NH yesterday. We didn't home until after 8pm and a good day was had by all. We all got some new new stash. I bought fabric and NPI silks. The fabric is 32 ct Luna, Days Gone By and Vanilla Gold, as well as, 36 ct Butter cream. All beautiful and all different regardless of how the picture looks. We were alittle disappointed because they had none of the new stuff in the store. They had alot of it but we were told that it was for the on-line orders not for the store. We all expected that the fabric selection would be larger. None of us got the fabric we wanted. We still managed to all get stuff and we had fun. Had lunch/dinner had a place in Hanover, NH. We were starving and the place didn't open until 4:30. We waited and the wait was worth it. Excellent food. Of course, I forgot to take pics of the store and the restaurant. We are gearing up here for the hurricane. It's been a while since we have been hit. I am taking in all the patio furniture and closing the screen porch of the season. I live on a beautiful heavily wooded lot and my hope is the all that beauty doesn't land in my home. Wish us luck. I have put together a giveaway for having 500 followers, but I am going to put off posting it until after the hurricane. To everyone in the path of Irene, stay safe! Until next time....Happy Stitching! Deborah

Oh my! I love all your stitching projects! Fancey Blackett got on my todo list too. And the LK is so adorable! Love the squirrel too. Glad you all had a great time at ABC even if they didn't have all you were looking for.

I'm quite worried about the hurricane as well. Looks like NY might get hit badly. We have huge trees around us as well. Fingers crossed for both of us.

Oh I love all your Fall and Halloween projects - so pretty! That Fancey Blackett piece makes me smile. Good luck with hurricane - I hope everyone comes out unscathed.

A belated Happy Birthday Deb!
I love your little squirrel. What threads did you use for him?
We are also bracing for the hurricane. Keep our fingers crossed that Irene loses some of her strength before she reaches us.
Stay safe!

Fancey is adorable! As is your squirrel! I keep hearing widely varying reports on the hurricane (what we should expect in NJ), so I don't know.

So sorry to hear the shop was such a let-down. I can only say that Anita of Anita's Little Stitches has never let me down, but at least 8 other shops have. :(

Glad you had a good time going to ABC. The new stash looks great, but too bad there wasn't any of the market stuff for you to see. Hope you make it through the storm ok.

Beautiful stitching. Love it all. From the darling little squirrel, the LK and of course Fancey Blackett. I admired that one on Siobhan's blog as well. Boris looks fantastic in his frame.
Hope you come safe and without damages to the house through the hurricane.

Your latest stitching is lovely, the JBW squirrel has got to be my fave though, what a cutie! How disappointing that the store didn't offer what you were looking for, but it sounds like your lovely meal made up for it a little bit. Stay safe and I look forward to your giveaway. Best wishes.

I think a lot of us fell in love with Fancey, Deborah--it is so, so whimsical and fun! Boris looks right at home in his black frame and your other finishes are adorable.

I do hope the hurricane takes a last minute detour and heads out to sea. My sister lives in Boston and is very concerned as well--stay safe...

I love reading your Blog because I never know what project you'll have completed next ;o) I'm never disappointed! Love your finishes and Boris looks perfect in his frame, I think.

Fancey is lovely!

Isn't it disappointing when a trip to a well known NS doesn't go as you planned? :o( Love the fabric you got though.

Hope the hurricane goes off to sea. Stay safe!

Deborah --
Always fun to come visit your blog. You have such great things to share and I love everything this time. I especially like Boris. Too cute:))

Glad you had a good time with your friends on your stash trip! One can never have too much stash:)))

Stay safe this weekend. I hope it doesn't affect you too much.

I'm not sure which is more adorable, Fancey or Boris! All of the stitching is lovely, but those 2 are just too cute. Sounds like you had a fun time, despite being a bit disappointed in the fabric selection and lack of new charts. Hopefully the food and company made up for that.

I don't think I'm losing it, but what happened to the photo of Trix or Treats? I sent a friend to your blog to see it and it was gone! Please tell me I'm ok!!

What a beautiful group of pieces. It looks like you have fall on your mind!
Be safe this weekend.

MAy you and yours stay safe throughout Irene's tempest. I also hope you continue to have power so that your needling fabric can continue. Lovely works and your Boris framing is well done. Looks great.
I also am envious of your trip to ABC stitch therapy in NH. DH & I tried to hit it on our way home from RI- a bit out of the way I know, but I talked him into a different way home albeit they were closed for an hour by the time we got there. Oh well, another time and now I know exactly where they are.
