A Little Stitching

I recently received the giveaway that I won from Danielle. As you can see, she was tremendously generous! I love everything. I received 2 wonderful SB kits, fabric, and great kits from RTR. I love pink and she included the most beautiful piece of pink fabric.
Thank you very much Danielle. This is the latest design by BBD, Clara Ellen. Sorry about the picture. It was dark out when I took the picture. The colors are very soft and muted. I didn't like the green they used for the house so I used the gingersnap by CC. I dedicated this one to my paternal great grandmother. I was really fortunate in knowing both of my great grandmothers. I was ten when they both passed. I received my love of the needle arts from one and my love of cooking from the other.

I started this the other day. It's Sarah Street by LHN. I love the fabric. It's vintage butter cream by LSL. I am only okay with the design. There are so many new things from market that I want to do, and I think that those new designs are clouding my mind. Can't wait for some of my stuff to arrive.

Again, I would like to thank everyone for the response to my giveaway. It's awesome. Thanks for all the comments about the blog. I really appreciate them. Until Friday--Happy Stitching.

Thank you for the response and the lovely comments. I am overwhelmed by it all. Have a good couple of days and Happy Stitching!

My 100th Follower Giveaway

I can't believe that when I started my blog around 6 months ago that I would have 103 followers! I figured that my friends would follow, that would be around 10 or so but never did think that anyone else would be interested in my stitching. This blog and the great stitchers who read it and comment have given me immense pleasure. As does my reading all of your wonderful blogs. So on to the giveaway. I have included 10 items. One for every 10 followers. I have 2 pieces of fabric, 2 skeins of silk, 1 thread pouch by Impie, Hattie and Bea, 2 Prairie Schooler charts, 1 Plum Street Sampler chart, 1 chart by Blue Ribbon Designs and the latest pair of Gingher scissors named Sonia! The rules are simple. You must be a follower and if not please join. Comment on this post only and if you post about my giveaway on your blog you will get another vote. I will pull a name on October 1st. Again, thanks to all of you! Good Luck and Happy Stitching!

A Few Good Things

I received this beautiful scissor fob that Heidi made. She had a surprise giveaway on some of us that commented on her love of ironing. Yes, I said that she loves ironing. I thought that it looked great on these scissors.
I did this BBD design much earlier in the year. Just got around to framing it.

Alittle close up of the geese. Don't you just love them?
A close up of the frame. The pic is lousy but the frame does go well with this design.

Whipped up this little ditty, while watching Dancing with the Stars. Yes, dancing with the Stars-- what can I say. It's an Elizabeth designs from 2004. Came as a kit. I am going to make it into a little pillow with some great ribbon.

This is Clara Ellen by BBD. I'm using 28ct ant. ivory with the suggested fibers except for the avocado that they use for the house. All the other colors are muted and soft and the avocado is very bright. I haven't chosen a color yet but I will let you know what I pick.

I will be posting in a day or so because I have reached 100 followers ( thank you Edgar for being my 100th ) and that means a giveaway. I haven't put it together yet but I am thinking about 10 things. Check back.

I want to thank everyone for the wonderful comments on my last post. They mean alot. I am thrilled by the kindness of all you stitchers. Got to go put together a giveaway. Happy Stitching!

Two little finishes

I finished this the other day. I am going to make it into a pillow using this green pom-pom stuff. I loved Paulette's pillow, so now I am all about the pom-poms. It will be a week or so before I can post this pillow made, as well as, the gobble pillow. The reason is the my sewing machine lives at my BFF Cheryl's house. We do all our sewing together. It works for us. Right now she has some relatives visiting. So the pillows will wait.
This is the bonus sampler from BBD anniversary series. I am going to have it stretched and then I will pop into the frame that I am using for all the anniversary designs. The fabric is one of my all time favs, Autumn Blush. I did chance most of the fibers. I wanted alittle more pink than what was called for. I just have to finish the border on the bottom.
Sammi gets alittle put out if I don't occasionally post a picture of her. She looks so alert because I am holding a cookie as a bribe. It works every time.

Thanks for all the great comments on my last post. They are very appreciated. I see that I have 95 followers. I'm astounded! When I get to 100, I will be having a giveaway. Yeah!! Have a good few days and Happy Stitching.

Somes finishes

I finished Gobble by Plum Street Samplers a couple of days ago. It's on 32ct. ant. ivory using the suggested DMC floss. I think, that I will be making this into a pillow.
I picked up this Thanksgiving sampler by Blue Ribbon Designs today at the framer. I love this design. The colors are beautiful and I enjoyed every stitch. It's a large piece so I couldn't get close and have it all in the shot.

A close up of the middle.

A close up of the frame. I have used this frame before and I love it. The piece closest to the design is a bronze colored metal that really enhances the piece.

This is my current WIP. It's Hare's Christmas by Plum Street Sampler. I am doing it on 32ct navy bean fabric by Lakeside using the suggested GA fibers.

I want to thank everyone for the great comments on my last post. I really do appreciate them. I have had a really busy last 5 or 6 days and I haven't had time to post the recipe for the peach bread pudding but I will do it soon. It is worth the wait. Until next time Happy Stitching!

We have a winner!

This Emma Nicole, the newest member of my Wednesday stitching group. Phyllis (her Grandma) will be bringing her on Wednesday for a while. She was so good and so precious. It's good to start then young, don't you think :)
I finished the Thanksgiving sampler that I was doing. Sorry, no pictures. I will show it later in the week after I pick it up from the framer. I started Gooble by Plum Street Samplers a couple of days ago. Iam doing it on 32 ct ant. ivory with DMC floss. There are only 5 colors, so it's working up fast.

This is a peach bread pudding that I made yesterday. It's wonderful. The best recipe for bread pudding I've ever used.

Okay, now for the real reason you are visiting. LOL The winner of the Gingher scissors is Hazel of Quietly Stitching in the UK. Hazel, please email me at sammi916@comcast.net with your info. Congratulations!
I want to thank everyone for making my first giveaway a wonderful success! All your comments were greatly appreciated. Thanks to all my followers, new and old. I am making many new blogging friends. Have a great couple of days and Happy Stitching.

A Day of Finishing and a Surprise

I spent part of my day doing some finishing. I will say that my talent lies with the stitching not the finishing. First, is a pinkeep. The fabric that it's laying on is what's on the back.
Another little pinkeep.

These two ornies are my favorites.

This is my WIP. I can see a finish fairly soon. The picture doesn't show how really beautiful this design is. I added 4 more colors for the leaves.

Now for the surprise! I scored two of these lovely new Gingher scissors. All the Joann Fabrics in my area are already sold out. My good fortune can also be your good fortune. I am going to give a pair away.

1. Leave a comment on this post only for one vote.
2. You must be a follower or a new follower, so please join. Leave an another comment for a second vote.
3. If you blog about this giveaway on your blog leave a third comment for another vote. I will draw a name on September 10th. Good luck! As always, I am blown away all the comments that are left for me. Enjoy the rest of this holiday weekend and Happy Stitching.

Alittle stash and some finishing

This was in my mailbox today. These are some of Just Nan's new Halloween designs. They are all wonderfully small designs. The 2 pins are awesome.
Cheryl and I did a little finishing today. I got afew things done before the iron attacked my arm, leaving a large burn on my forearm. This is LK's new Quick It design. I used 32 ct ant. ivory linen with the suggested floss. We made it into a pillow. I think it turned out really nice.

A cute little pinkeep. I have another two that I will do tomorrow. I also have 2 little Halloween ornies that I have to stuff and make cording for. I will post them in afew days (depending on Earl ).

This is the close up of the frame that is on October by PS.

I picked this up from the framer on Wednesday. I am really pleased in how it turned out. The frame is lighter than this picture shows. It's not October yet but it's already hanging up.

I want to thank everyone for the comments on my last post. I love the fact that you all take the time to read and to comment. It means alot.

I want everyone on the east coast to stay safe during the storm. As of tonight, we are supposed to get heavy rains and up to 60 mile per hour winds. I've taken in the patio furniture and anything that could blow away. It should be over by Saturday. I am going to hunker down and hopefully finish the finishing and do some more stitching . Stay safe and Happy Stitching.
