A Finish, Some Framing and a Win.
I picked up Dogwood lace from my framer and I love it.
The frame is a cherry color. I would have wanted it wider but this was my only option. You can click on any of the photo's for a larger view.
Next up is a small patriotic design by Chessie and Me.
I did it on 32 ct mystery fabric using the called for overdyes. The best part is that i had the frame in my stash! I am always so happy when I have a frame that actually fits a piece. The design is only 3.5 by 3.5.
I really love the crackle frame. The colors go very well.
I won the greatest giveaway from June at Butterfly Wings
June asked what my favorite colors are and I went with pink. She sent a package of wonderful fabric and trims. Pink lace, great bows, beautiful fabric, ribbon and the best little buttons. Thank you June! I feel very blessed.
This is my latest project. It's called itty-bittys by Keslyn. I saw this at Celebrations and couldn't resist it. It was designed to be stitched over one on 28ct fabric. I wanted mine a little larger so I am stitching on 36 ct Magnolia fabric over 2. There will be 12 different blocks. It's done with all silks and I was lucky enough to split them with my friend,Phyllis.
Before I end this long post I had to share a picture of Stella. This what she looks like when we take our walks. She focuses much better when she has something in her mouth. Fish is better than rocks, leaves, sticks or whatever she finds along the way. Isn't she darling? I am shameless. Have a great 4th! Until next time ..... Happy Stitching! Deborah

Doing The Happy Dance!
My friends reminded me today during our Wednesday stitching group that I haven't blogged in a while. Time just gets by me during this time of year. Up until today, the weather has been cool. Great weather to work in the yard. Weeding never goes away. On to the happy dance.
Dogwood Lace is finished and at the framer. She turned out beautiful. I love the pikish fabric and the baked apple floss.
A close up of the middle. I finished July Word Play. It is done on 36 ct pecanbutter fabric by LSL with the suggested floss. So cute.
I found this box in my stash when I was putting the craft room together. I think that I have had this box for 15 years. No kidding. It is a little beat up.
It was time to do something with it. I found this design that will fit perfectly. The fabric is a very pale blue and the floss is SNC silk called sidewalk chalk. Hope to put it together this week end.
Did some baking yesterday. These are bourbon chocolate cupcakes with strawberry butter cream frosting. So good.
I will end with with a picture of Stella after our morning walk. She knows that she shouldn't be sleeping on the bed but she is so darn cute. Until next time.....Happy Stitching! Deborah

Some Pretty New Things.
Can't believe that it's been over a week since my last post. I have done some stitching but not as much as I would have liked. I caught the dreaded summer cold. It is much better now and I need to catch up on all the things that I didn't do all week. I have some progress on Dogwood Lace and would like to finish it up this week, if possible.
I still love it. It is so much prettier in person. I did manage to do an exchange piece this week. I loved how it turned out so I did one for myself and one for Cheryl. Can't show it until the end of the month. When I don't feel that great and really don't want to do anything, I tend to shop on line. Good thing I am not sick often. This is some of my new stash.
Two great pieces of LSL, Penny America. Book of Days and the July small, Liberty Sewing Pouch. All wonderful designs.
Then I couldn't resist some of the newest With Thy Needle designs. July Word Play, one of the cute thimble pouch designs and Strawberry Hill Designs. I bought the box of Whitman's candies to finish the main design. I had to suffer though all those chocolates. lol.
Belinda of Blue Ribbon Designs had some beautiful counting pins on her blog that she received from a friend. She posted a link to the etsy store where they were purchased. So I had to check it out. I am so glad I did. Amanda of beadin'handy has the most wonderful things. Her prices are really reasonable. This is what I bought.
The spool is beautifully made and has either silk or rayon thread on it. The scissors and fob are beautiful. I picked one with lovely teapots. They are the same color as the thread. The other thing in with the scissors is a thread catcher. Check put her etsy store.
I will end with a picture of my sweet girl, Stella. She is growing up quickly. She has matured and has lost her puppy looks. She has gotten longer and taller. She has the best disposition. She has been good for me. I now take 2 walks a day. Until next time....Happy Stitching! Deborah
