Long Overdue!

My summer has been so full this year and that is not normal for me. First up is some stitching. I finished Itty Bitty and I really like it. I haven't found a frame yet for it. I finished Lk Autumn Alphabet. It was a quick stitch. I am in a fall kinds mood. I also did LHN Autumn Band Sampler and PSS Halloweenies. I will show these on my next post because Halloweenies is getting framed and the band sampler is getting stretched. Now on to some of what has kept me busy. Cheryl and I have hit alot of antique and thrift stores. I have found some really great stuff. These are some of my favs. I was having a green day. Love the turtle frog, the small bowl and pitcher are in perfect condition and know live in my upstairs bathroom, the egg cup is holding the smallest frog I've ever seen. It's 1 & 1/2 inches across. So cute. I just love this old silverware carrier. I found some yarn quills with the tread still on them, a shuttle with the bobbin in it, some wooden spools with antique lace, some empty wooden spools. I will be putting lace on them. This coverlet is gorgeous! All hand done and fits on a twin bed. I put it on my wicker rocker. Can you believe it cost only $22.00? Wow. Have been going to fun places like this on the Cape. One of my oldest friends had a very big birthday in July. Lets just say it involved a 6 and a 0. lol I threw her a birthday party. A small gathering with great food and a beautiful cake. She is 3 weeks older than I am. I do give her a hard time about that. She is a wonderful person who has survived breast cancer and bypass surgery. I will close with this picture of the sky over my patio. The colors were stunning. Thanks for sticking with me during this really long post. Thanks for all the comments. I love and appreciate them. I will be back soon. Until next .... time Happy Stitching! Deborah

What a great summer it sounds like you're having, Deborah! And it looks like a big birthday is coming up for you. I am only a couple of years behind you--how did we ever get to be this old... I sure don't feel like it, do you (most days, anyway!!)...

Your finishes are beautiful and I love all the green goodies you found antiquing. I'm just getting into it a bit myself and am really enjoying finding all those hidden treasures. Enjoy your week!

you found some fabulous antique finds! I'm totally in love with the turtle frog and the wood carrier - if you happen to find them missing it means I somehow managed to find where you lived and risked breaking in to "borrow" them.

Wonderful antique finds. I can see why you were having a green day. Those green glass pieces were exquisite.
