I Love Pom-Pom Fringe!

I spent Thursday at Cheryl's doing alittle more finishing. This is the goofiest pillow ever! I just love the design. I tea dyed the pom-poms and they match the fabric pretty well.
This little BBD design is my latest pin cushion. I put the ric-rac trim and filled it with walnut shells. It's currently sitting on the arm of my stitchy chair. Just a reminder, I don't sew well,so Cheryl does the sewing. I decide how I want them finished, pick out the fabrics and the trims and she makes the magic happen. What a great friend.
I started this today. It's LHN Snow white. The design called for a green fabric but I changed the fabric to 32 ct. Winter sky by LSL. I am using Belle Soie silk called Icing. I think that this will be a quick stitch.

I haven't posted a picture of Sammi lately. This is she doing what she does best. I am not sure that she would be pleased with this photo.
It was a busy week with stitching , finishing and doing all kinds of house stuff but I did find the time to get a new Christmas tree. I am way past getting real ones so it's phony trees for me. You know, the ones that come with the lights. My husband and I didn't argue much but we did have some battles over the Christmas lights. The tree is much smaller than my last one. It's 6' tall and will be much easier to handle. It will make it's debut Thanksgiving week end.
Next week, Cheryl and I are making our cranberry chutney for Thanksgiving. Can't wait. It's really delicious.
Thanks for all the wonderful comments. I really love them. Until next time Happy Stitching!

Your stitching looks great and I think that the next best thing to be a good finisher is having a friend who is! I totally agree with you about Christmas trees. The only thing I miss about a real one is the smell and that is what Aromatique is for!

Great finishes and lovely progress on LHN Snow White. Sammi is such a sweetie :) We have a fake tree too, it's just easier to store and move around. Have a lovely time making chutney and happy stitching to you.

What great finishes! I love pom pom fringe too! lol! Was just thinking I need to get me some. You have a good friend in Cheryl, finishing your things for you. I love the pom pom and ric rac trims on both pieces -- love the stitching too! And your new start is really pretty! Sammi is a cutie!

I love your pillow finishes!! The pom poms are great! I'm not much of a sewer myself but unfortunately I don't have a friend who will put things together for me so I plod along and hide my stitches with the trim. I paid a visit to the US yesterday and finally found some of the crushed walnut shells. Our pet stores in Canada don't carry them.

Pom poms just scream "fun," don't they Deborah? The pillows are both so darling--can I borrow your friend to help with my finishing :)

Sammi looks like one very contented pup!

Great finishes Deborah. The pom poms are fun :)

Lucky you to have a friend who can finish for you! I'm working on the Gobble Couple now with hopes of having it finished before Thanksgiving.
Snow White was a chart in my recent giveaway. Isn't it pretty?

We still cut our tree down. It's gotten to be a tradition with the kids. The cleanup is MY tradition because no one is here when it comes down. My other trees around the house are artificial and are so easy. It's hard to tell them apart from the "forest" in the living room.

Sammi looks so content...what a cutie

I love the little pillow and pincushion finishing you use on some of your stitched pieces. It's my favourite finishing at the moment and I can't get enough of it. You show some gorgeous pieces in this post and in the last one.

Dang it! I've seen that little quaker turkey pair before and didn't think much of it...till now. Yours is adorable and the pompom trim is perfect...I may have to hunt down the pattern and stitch it after all! (Could you give me a reminder about the pattern details?)

Your BBD pincushion is stunning too!

I think the Snow White probably makes more more sense on blue - there's a lot more blue than green during the winter season! I'm not always a huge Quaker fan, but I love your turkeys! You are so blessed to have a friend like Cheryl, not just for finishing but all the other things you share. Have fun getting ready for the holidays!

I love your recent finishes! I've got the BBD chart on a list of charts to buy. It's really cute!

We do the artificial tree too. Between the dogs and everything else (including the heat; we normally have the a/c on at the holidays) it just makes more sense. We do have one that looks more real than fake though.

I love your goofy little pillow with the pom pom fringe lol.
I started stitching Autumn Harvest but I am not sure about floss color that I chose.
We think along the same lines. I have Snow White in my To Do pile too.
What a precious picture of Sammi.

Can't wait to see pics of the new Christmas tree debut! I went fake about 4 years ago...so much easier and you can put it up earlier...and NO evergreen mess to deal with!
Care to share yours and Cheryl's chutney recipe? Please?
