My New Addiction

A couple of weeks ago, just before the blizzard, Cheryl and I went looking for flower frogs. Most people go grocery shopping, we look for antiques. We both found five. Now, I know that this like alot but we couldn't leave them. This is one of my favs. The gold glass is beautiful. It came with a pitcher, too. Cost of 3 pieces was $7.00.
The one on the left is all one piece. I love this one. The one on the right is a very small ice bucket and the frog fits in perfectly. Cost of the 3 pieces was $18.00. See why I couldn't leave them behind. Nothing that I bought was chipped or damaged in any way. I will show the other two in my next post.
This little cutie was a freebie last year from Paulette at Plum Street samplers. You know how I love the pom-poms. The corner is a little weird but still very cute.

I finish April by PS over the week-end. It's being stretched for my pop it and out frame. Love all the critters in this one.

I wanted a change of pace from the PS pieces and since I am stitching from my stash, I went looking for a Valentine piece. I found My Valentine from BBD. This is a 2005 piece. The linen color is 32 ct. baby lotion (very pale pink), not the icky color that the picture shows. It's a fun piece to stitch.

Before I go, I want to thank everyone for visiting my little piece of the world. I appreciate the fact that you take time to read and comment. I, also, noticed that I have almost have 300 followers! This fact is incredible to me. When I get to 300 followers I am going to have a giveaway. Hopefully, that will happen soon. I must start putting things together for the giveaway. I do know that fabric, floss and patterns will be involved and a little something stitched by me.

Until next time.... Happy Stitching! Deborah

Cute pillow and I love those frogs, especially the yellow one and the ice bucket one, You bought some great finds!
Deborah, I also wanted to thank you for blogging and sharing your creativity. Visiting your site always inspires me and I'm amazed at how much you accomplish. The tips you share with the "pop in pop out framing" is terrific too. I just checked with my framer at Michaels to see if he could accomodate me in the same manner. Of course he can so when I finish a nicer piece like PS or BBD, I will mimick you with that cost saving technique! Thanks again.
Any advice on how you go about this? With PS it's easy to do since most of the monthly samplers are the same stitch size height and width. Do you have any advice to share on how you select different stitcheries to do the pop in/out with or do you go with a style like "Anniversaries of the Heart Designs"? Jane

I just love your flower frogs! Being a collector myself, I love to see what other people find and how they'll find tops and then bowls to complete them. I haven't found one for a few months now. I think I need some antique trips.

And love your stitched pieces, especially your PS pieces!

Great finds! I love your finish, and the Lucky finish with the pompom trim. Great job! Love the BBD WIP. I always think about getting that out to stitch for my bedroom. It's such a pretty piece!

I wouldn't have left them behind either! Around here they are pretty hard to come by - especially without chips or stains. If you do find them they are pricey - and that is just for the frogs - any kind of container makes them even more $$. Congrats on your finds!

I can see why you could not leave them behind. Regardless of how inexpensive they were, they are beautiful! Flower frogs are virtually impossible to find here. I haven't been able to find any and I keep forgetting to check when I'm out of town. Your stitching finishes and WIP are just as pretty!

Your BBD piece is very elegant, I really like the delicate colours. Here's hoping you get to the magic 300 soon because I can't wait to see what you've got in store for a giveaway :) Happy stitching to you.

I was on a quest last summer to find flower frogs...I have been gifted one, my first one, then I had more from a friend of my husbands who goes to flea markets everyweekend and I found a grouping on ebay for cheap! Had to bid, it had many odd and unusal shapes and I won. Have to get back on the quest to find bases now!

Gotta love BBD!! Beautiful.

Wish I had taken pictures of the ones I gave to my sisters now! :) Love your BBD pincushion. I'm stitching that one now and your beads gave me some inspiration to get it finished!
