Winter, So Far Only in My Stitching

We have had the weirdest weather! It has been in the 60's and low 70's for weeks. It's getting close to Christmas and I want cold and maybe some snow. So far, the closest to snow and cold is stitching it. I finished LK Winter Alphabet over the week end. I am going to have an in and out frame made in case I do the others. I do love the fall one.
I also did DT's January. I used a scrap of 32 ct. pearl gray and I used the called for NPI's. I do love me some silks.
On Saturday, I drove up to New Hampshire to Yankee Cross Stitch to take a class from Donna of By the Bay fame. She is a lovely person and we had a great time. We made this cute tree. It is made out of wool, a dowel and wire. Darn easy to put together. The only thing I would change is the really bright green floral tape we used to rap the truck of the tree. I am going to get some darker green tape and go over the bright green. Then I will love the little tree. I must say that the base is really nice. Red and has a nice design in the medal. You can click on any of the pictures for a larger view.
I have collected some Santa's over the years and I thought that I would share one of my collection at the end of each post this month. What I noticed, while taking their pics is that they are all woodsy kinda of Santa's. This one I got in Canada a number of years ago when Cheryl and I brought her Mother back home.
This is my small tree in the kitchen. I bought it at the Christmas Tree Shop for around 10 bucks. A great buy. I have my cross stitch ornies on it. I really need to do more. Hopefully for next season. Wow! I need to thank everyone for the wonderful comments on my last post. They mean a lot to me. Until next time....Happy Stitching! Deborah

Lovely stitching Deborah. It's summer down here, and we are looking for the sun, this week we haven't had a day over 22C (71F) usually we are well over 40C (104F) by now, and days and days on end of it... Nope not missing it :@

Love your ornie tree.

Loving all these lovelies! The tree is so sweet with all your stitched ornaments. I need to be inspired to do this as I wanted to in 2011 and never did. The LK alphabet is great and cannot wait to see it framed or finished.

The feather tree made of wool is F*A*N*T*A*S*T*I*C! I just adore it and how fun it would be to make one yourself too.

I have been neglecting my blog and blog visits but hope to have things more calm soon. Next week, my quilt group Christmas party is over and I can do things I want for the holidays afterwards. Stop by my blog as I have a giveaway going. Another will follow too. :-)

Hugs from Holland ~

Beautiful finishes, Deborah! At least you're in the spirit with your stitching even if the weather isn't. ;) The tree is so cute! I love your santas, too, and look forward to seeing more of your collection.

LK Winter Alphabet looks great, I'll have to look up the others, I like the sound of the Autumn one. Your ornament tree is fab, I hope to own one myself one day. Best wishes and happy stitching to you.

Your LK Alphabet is wonderful! Love the DT piece as well. The little tree is great -- I would have loved to take that class, but it's too far away for me. Lovely ornament tree too. I bet you're feeling colder by the end of the day today! The chill has come here overnight!

Our weather has been kind of wierd too. I'm ready for a "little" snow to make it feel more festive! It can go away by 1/1 too:))

Have a great weekend.

I love the tree in your kitchen. That is a second Christmas Tree that is very doable!

I hope your weather is more winter like for you soon!

Deb... your Santa is beautiful. Santas and Snowmen are my weakness.
I also love your DT January. Aren't those patterns just the cutest little things?
Your kitchen tree looks great with all the stitched ornies on it. I would leave it up through Feb and after Christmas display all your Winter ornies on it.... that is...IF we ever get WINTER here in Massachusetts!!!! Somehow seeing snowmen sitting on green lawns just does not spell Christmas here in New England!

Oooh, thanks for reminding me about the LK Autumn alphabet. I need to add that to my Christmas wish list! : ) Great finishes!!!

The L*K Winter piece is adorable. I love the fetl tree you made for the class, but I have to agree with you, either a darker green, or even brown, floral tape would be better.
