Glad To Be Back!

I spent some time in Myrtle Beach visiting my dad. He recently bought a condo on the harbor and it is beautiful! The weather was great and the shopping was worth the trip. I won't bore you with any pictures because the camera didn't make the trip. I did manage a stop at In Stitches in Alexandria, VA. I bought a lot of fabric. They have a wonderful variety.
I found some great charts that had to make the trip back to MA with me.
If you have never been to In Stitches and happen to be in the area, they are a must stop. The store is wonderful and the staff is so helpful. Also spent some time in NY on Long Island visiting some friends and family. It was a really nice vacation. On the stitching front, I finished my letter B.
I love how it turned out. I stopped at the framers today and picked up 2 pieces. The first is a small piece from LHN called summer sampler.
The frame is a beautiful red color. Sorry about the dark pics. I picked up a PSS piece but will show it next time. I need to take it outside for the picture. Cheryl and I went thrifting a month or so ago and I did find some things.
I found some colored bobbins, some smaller spools and a great ceramic flower frog. I really love the red and green bobbins.
I finally found some oil cans that will be used for some finishing. They were a wonderful buy, both for $10.00.
I love how my great-grandma's hope chest looks with my collection of spools and bobbins. It's late and I will close for now. I need to catch up on my blog reading. Thanks for stopping by and leaving wonderful comments. I appreciate them all. Until next time....Happy Stitching! Deborah

It sounds like you had a lovely vacation! You certainly found some great things to bring home with you! I used to live in the town right down the road from Alexandria but I wasn't into stitching then. Our son still lives in the vicinity so if we ever go to visit him I will have to stop by In Stitches : )

Your stitching is always so pretty, Deborah... I have Summer Sampler on deck to stitch in June, too--yours is adorable...

Thanks for the tip on In Stitches in Alexandria. My youngest son lives not too far away from there in Arlington and it sounds like it would be well worth the trip.

Glad you had such a nice visit with your dad :)

In Stitches is my go-to "brick and mortar" needlework shop... have been a regular there for more than 20 years. I still haven't figured out how they cram all of the charts, fiber, embellishments, fabric and more into that space! The summer sampler finish is just wonderful! Congratulations!
