Some Pretty New Things.

Can't believe that it's been over a week since my last post. I have done some stitching but not as much as I would have liked. I caught the dreaded summer cold. It is much better now and I need to catch up on all the things that I didn't do all week. I have some progress on Dogwood Lace and would like to finish it up this week, if possible. I still love it. It is so much prettier in person. I did manage to do an exchange piece this week. I loved how it turned out so I did one for myself and one for Cheryl. Can't show it until the end of the month. When I don't feel that great and really don't want to do anything, I tend to shop on line. Good thing I am not sick often. This is some of my new stash. Two great pieces of LSL, Penny America. Book of Days and the July small, Liberty Sewing Pouch. All wonderful designs. Then I couldn't resist some of the newest With Thy Needle designs. July Word Play, one of the cute thimble pouch designs and Strawberry Hill Designs. I bought the box of Whitman's candies to finish the main design. I had to suffer though all those chocolates. lol. Belinda of Blue Ribbon Designs had some beautiful counting pins on her blog that she received from a friend. She posted a link to the etsy store where they were purchased. So I had to check it out. I am so glad I did. Amanda of beadin'handy has the most wonderful things. Her prices are really reasonable. This is what I bought. The spool is beautifully made and has either silk or rayon thread on it. The scissors and fob are beautiful. I picked one with lovely teapots. They are the same color as the thread. The other thing in with the scissors is a thread catcher. Check put her etsy store. I will end with a picture of my sweet girl, Stella. She is growing up quickly. She has matured and has lost her puppy looks. She has gotten longer and taller. She has the best disposition. She has been good for me. I now take 2 walks a day. Until next time....Happy Stitching! Deborah

Dogwood Lace is looking fantastic! Love the red!

I found the BeadinHandy shop on Etsy. They hand turn their spools which is pretty cool. Gorgeous stuff! I hope you're completely recovered from your summer cold soon!

You stitching is lovely. It's always so much fun to see what other stitchers stitch. Some of the pieces are so different from mine while others are the same!!

Your spool and scissors fob are beautiful too. I'll have to check out the easy store.

And of course your sweet girl Stella. She is just the best. And yes, I can see she has lost her puppy looks, but she sure looks like a lover!!

Happy Stitching !!

Sometime lurker here...I have a silly question...what IS a threadcatcher? How do you use it? And counting pins? I googled threadcatcher and came up with the wee bags used for orts/snipped threads.

Stella is muy cute and has the perkiest ears!

Wonderful progress on that beautiful Dogwood Lace, Deborah! You'll be finished in no time, I bet.

Sorry to hear you've been sick, but the online purchases certainly must have made you feel better!! Not to mention all the candy in the Whitman's box... Luckily, Miss Stella is there to help you work off all those calories twice a day :)

Hi Deborah! Wow...coming here is always a treat. I have never seen Dogwood Lace before but I just LOVE it! Who designed it? Lots of beautiful stash to choose from when it is done.

Stella has lost her puppy look. She would be good for you in more ways than walking I am sure. We thought about getting a dog and walking is part of the reason.

Hugs from Holland ~
