I started this new design by Plum Street Sampler over the week-end. I am using Clay 32 ct fabric and the NPS that is called for. I really love using the silks. They are so smooth and lay well. This design is so fun to work on. I started another small design but I can't show it because it is a Christmas gift for a friend who reads my blog.
I spent the better part of Saturday evening doing Sampler Roundy by Shakespears Peddler. I loved the design and I have the base a ready to go, but I HATE the colors. You can't even see the yellow and the reds are really close in color. I knew that I didn't like them but I thought that I could live with them. I can't so I am thrashing this piece and will spend some time with my fibers trying to find colors that I like. Oh well. Live and learn.
This is my new to me car. It's a 2009 Jetta with only 12,000 miles. It still has the factory warranty. It has alot of great stuff in it but the best thing it has is the heated seats. I love heated seats. Sammi loves it, as well. Of couse, she would love any car that she can ride in. She is peeking out the back window but she is hard to see. I think that if you enlarge the picture you can see her head.
This is some of what fall has brought to my house. Thanks for all the wonderful comments. They mean a great deal to me. Until next time--Happy Stitching!

Wow, you have a great view from your kitchen window! Your stitching looks great, but I sorry the Roundy's colors aren't working after all that work. Congratulations on your new car and hope you have fun driving it.
Congrats on new car!! I did see the top of sammi's head! I guess that gives it the seal of approval! lol Stitching is looking great!!
Great new start! What a shame that the colours of the round sampler were so disappointing.
Love the autumn foliage picture
Wonderfull all! Autumn colors, stitching and the car of course;)
What a lovely view you have. Beautiful colours. Love your new starts - shame about the colours on the roundy but best to restart if you're not happy. Love the car. Very flash. x
Wow, you are turbo stitching your new PSS! It looks great. Aren't NPI silks just incredible to use? They're my favorite fiber. As they say in this area when you get a car--"well wear". I have no idea how that comes to mean "good luck and safe driving!", but it does--and I wish the same to you!
What lovely photos to share with us. Your new car looks wonderful. Michelle x
Congrats on the new car!
Love your WIPs. LIke you though if I didn't like the colors, I'd switch them out.
The Plum Street start looks great. I haven't seen that one.
Isn't it annoying when the colors fail you like that. I'd probably slug it through to the end anyway since I hate to frog, but you are making a better choice I think.
Congrats on your new wheels!
I would have a hard time settling down to a good stitch with that view, and there is nothing better that being in the hot seat on a cold winter morn.
Be always in stitches.
Love both your new car and your new WIP, Deborah! I know just what you mean about the heated seats--my new car has them, too, and I'm enjoying them so much on these frosty mornings!
Nice stitching....and nice ride !! Have a great week.
Nice wheels Deb! Sammi seems to enjoy her heated seat. Beautiful stitching as always!
Cute new car and I am with you on the heated seats love them.
Fun starts too!!!! I've been wondering about the Roundie threads too so maybe i will trade a few of them out :-).
Congrats on the new car!
So you are going to trash the piece you were stitching because you didn't like the colors? Good for you. I've been teetering on trashing a piece because it just doesn't make me happy with the colors...now I know I have permission!
Congrats on finding a new car so quickly. Plum Street design looks great! Can't wait to see it in person. As far as sampler roundy, best to change it to something you will like better.
Congrats on your new car! Heated seats! Now that's an addition I could handle!!
I love your Plum Street start. Using the silks is wonderful. If I could afford it I'd use them for everything.
Sorry the sampler roundy hasn't worked out for you. Better to find something you like though.
I love your new Plum Street start. Please can I ask what it's called? What a shame about the colours in Sampler Roundy but I think you're doing the right thing.
Beautiful photo from your kitchen window. Love your new car!
I just love the progress on both of your pieces!!
Congratulations on your new set of wheels!!
Hi Deborah,
How lucky you a be able to watch the seasons change from your kitchen window. Here at home, I think the kitchen is where I spend most of my time!
Your new car is great. Yes, the heated seats DO spoil us, don't they?
What you've stitched on the Roundy looks good but I know what you mean about the colors. Some patterns lend themselves to brighter, more defined colors. We put precious time into our stitching not to love what we're working on. Maybe another stitcher would be interested in a trade or exchange for what you've already accomplished on it.
Sammi looks adorable in the car...don't our pets know a good thing?
Nice car! Sammi is so cute! I enlarged and then enlarged again and there Sammi was!
Bummer about the colors on the Sampler Roundy. I hope you find colors you like for your restart. Love your PSS piece so far!
Ooh, lovely! :o
That PSS is one of the only market things to call my name. As for the other, I just stared another Jenny Bean piece (Christmas) yesterday! :) I too think the design is cute, but I see what you mean about the colors. Maybe it's a dye lot thing? Hmn.
Congrats on the new car! :)
Love your new project from PSS! Such a sweet little design piece!
Congratulations on your new car too. It is beautiful!
Both your WIPs look so lovely.
Beautiful starts Deborah - I'm sorry you don't like the colors on your Roundy - I think it looks great!
Congrats on the new car!! I love it!!!
Love your PSS piece. I bought the fabric and NPS a couple of weeks ago. I'm anxious to see your progress on it.
Too bad about the Sampler Roundy. Let us know what colors you choose for the new one.
Congratulations on the new car! It looks great
What a great view from your kitchen window!!
Congratulations on the new car and I love your new start. I think I have to agree with you on the sampler roundy - I know you were choose some pretty colors.
Love the view from your kitchen window. The fall colours are so vibrant. Cute sampler. Too bad about the Shakespeare Peddler one though. That happened to me once as well when I stitched a LHN piece. Ended up trashing it too :( I can see Sammi peeking out. Cute!
What a lovely view from your window! Love your PSS start and sorry to hear that you're not enjoying the Shakespeare Peddler one. Enjoy your new car!
I really like your Plum Street Sampler start and I hope you enjoy your new car, heated seats and all! Happy stitching.
Congrats on the new car! Me like :o)
Are you stitching the SP piece with the recommended threads and fabric? I liked the model that was shown.
Nice WIP :o)
What a fabulous start on the PSS piece, love that design!! I am with you on the heated seat thing, I even turn mine on in the summer sometimes when my back aches....Enjoy your new wheels!! Smiles...
What a shame the sampler colours were not right but I am like you, if something does not look right, I cannot live with it. The new car looks fab. Happy motoring.
regards,
Shirley
Glad to find your blog, you have some lovely stitching.
Congrats on the new car (but sorry about why you needed it and glad you are all okay).
Hi Deb... Congrats on your new car! It look fabulous....give that little Sammie an extra pat on the head for me. She looks quite elegant peeking out the back window :)
I love the new Plum Sampler you've started. I may have to look into getting that one.
So glad I found your blog.
In stitches,
Janice
Glad to hear that you're fine after your accident - catching up on blogs after a couple weeks away from my computer. Enjoy your new ride!
