Some Pretty New Things.

Can't believe that it's been over a week since my last post. I have done some stitching but not as much as I would have liked. I caught the dreaded summer cold. It is much better now and I need to catch up on all the things that I didn't do all week. I have some progress on Dogwood Lace and would like to finish it up this week, if possible. I still love it. It is so much prettier in person. I did manage to do an exchange piece this week. I loved how it turned out so I did one for myself and one for Cheryl. Can't show it until the end of the month. When I don't feel that great and really don't want to do anything, I tend to shop on line. Good thing I am not sick often. This is some of my new stash. Two great pieces of LSL, Penny America. Book of Days and the July small, Liberty Sewing Pouch. All wonderful designs. Then I couldn't resist some of the newest With Thy Needle designs. July Word Play, one of the cute thimble pouch designs and Strawberry Hill Designs. I bought the box of Whitman's candies to finish the main design. I had to suffer though all those chocolates. lol. Belinda of Blue Ribbon Designs had some beautiful counting pins on her blog that she received from a friend. She posted a link to the etsy store where they were purchased. So I had to check it out. I am so glad I did. Amanda of beadin'handy has the most wonderful things. Her prices are really reasonable. This is what I bought. The spool is beautifully made and has either silk or rayon thread on it. The scissors and fob are beautiful. I picked one with lovely teapots. They are the same color as the thread. The other thing in with the scissors is a thread catcher. Check put her etsy store. I will end with a picture of my sweet girl, Stella. She is growing up quickly. She has matured and has lost her puppy looks. She has gotten longer and taller. She has the best disposition. She has been good for me. I now take 2 walks a day. Until next time....Happy Stitching! Really, Where Does the Time Go?

Thanks for visiting and taking the time to comment. I appreciate them all. Hope you all had a nice holiday weekend. We were busy with a lot of yard work, which is never ending. Visiting with friends and some stitching.
Sorry for the bad picture, I don't iron until the piece is finished. This is Dogwood Lace by Rosewood Manor. The fabric is 36 ct. Chantilly Cream by LSL. I am loving this piece and wish I had more time to work on it. You can clock on any of the pictures for a larger view.
This is my stitching group piece. It is coming along nicely.
I had The Summer Band sampler stretched and popped it into the frame I am using for all 4 seasons. I love the frame molding and it goes well with all of the seasons.
I will end with a couple more shots of my Iris. They are so happy. Stella is growing and doing well. This coming weekend we are going to the shelters yearly open house for the adopted pets and their families. Hope to get some shots of her and her siblings. Until next time......Happy Stitching! Where Does The Week Go?

First, I what to thank everyone for the great comments on my last post. I would, also, like to welcome my new followers. This week has just flown by. I have done some stitching and a lot of gardening.
I finished this piece last week and forgot to post it. It is the Summer Band sampler by LHN. It will stretched and put in my in and out frame.I finished the June Word Play this week and it will be done as a door hanger.
I did this piece last year and just had it framed. Really, the pictures do it no justice. The design is by PSS done on 32 ct. days gone by linen using the suggested silks.
Here is a close up of the frame. I will keep this one up all the time. I just love it so.
I picked this piece up today and I love it! It is already hanging in the craft room.
I started this last night while watching Dancing with the Stars and I learned that I really must pay attention to the stitching. So, I started again today. The piece is Dogwood Lace by Rosewood Manor. I am doing it on 36 ct. strawflower LSL. A beautiful pink fabric. The floss is baked apple by WDW. This piece will take awhile to do. I now know that I can't do this piece at my stitching groups, so I will be doing small quick pieces during group times.
I picked up this piece at Celebrations from the Inspired Needle's booth. This will be my first group piece. I got some emails and comments about the Inspired Needle. I tried to answer them but some of the emails came back so... let me tell how much I enjoyed visiting the Inspired Needle's Booth. Cathy had everything that a store would have. I don't think that she left much behind in her store. I went back 4 times and think I bought stuff each time. I am glad that she will be coming back next year.
I will close with a picture of some of my bearded iris. They are so pretty. Have a great holiday week-end! Until next time ..... Happy Stitching! Deborah

Glad To Be Back!

I spent some time in Myrtle Beach visiting my dad. He recently bought a condo on the harbor and it is beautiful! The weather was great and the shopping was worth the trip. I won't bore you with any pictures because the camera didn't make the trip. I did manage a stop at In Stitches in Alexandria, VA. I bought a lot of fabric. They have a wonderful variety.
I found some great charts that had to make the trip back to MA with me.
If you have never been to In Stitches and happen to be in the area, they are a must stop. The store is wonderful and the staff is so helpful. Also spent some time in NY on Long Island visiting some friends and family. It was a really nice vacation. On the stitching front, I finished my letter B.
I love how it turned out. I stopped at the framers today and picked up 2 pieces. The first is a small piece from LHN called summer sampler.
The frame is a beautiful red color. Sorry about the dark pics. I picked up a PSS piece but will show it next time. I need to take it outside for the picture. Cheryl and I went thrifting a month or so ago and I did find some things.
I found some colored bobbins, some smaller spools and a great ceramic flower frog. I really love the red and green bobbins.
I finally found some oil cans that will be used for some finishing. They were a wonderful buy, both for $10.00.
I love how my great-grandma's hope chest looks with my collection of spools and bobbins. It's late and I will close for now. I need to catch up on my blog reading. Thanks for stopping by and leaving wonderful comments. I appreciate them all. Until next time....Happy Stitching! Deborah

So Many Celebrations!

I was so pleased to have won this beautiful pillow from Sharon at itsdaffycat.blogspot It now lives in my craft room happily on my wicker rocker. Thanks so much Sharon.
I picked up Zoya and Maxim from the framers today. I love the way it turned out. The colors in this piece are so beautiful. The frame is black with some gray. I think that it makes Zoya a little prettier.
I went to Celebrations in New Hampshire this past week with 3 of my friends from our Wednesday stitching group. Dottie and Phyllis are in the above picture and Diane is in the pic below. The empty chair next to Diane is where I spent a great deal of time. We had the best time. Stitch, shop and eat was our motto. We did it all very well. lol
They had the best booth of antique lace and buttons. This what I purchased. Aren't those little flowers the best?
A few charts I couldn't live with out.
This design is wonderful. When the pincushion is finished it will be added to the top of the wonderful wooden thread holder. On to the winner of my giveaway! I did the random generator thing and BrendaS was the winner. She has a wonderful blog called Brenda's Stitching. You all should check it out. I want to thank every one who entered the giveaway. Wish I could send something to all of you.
This is the piece I am currently working on. The letter B by Jardin Prive. Hope to have it finished soon. Thanks for taking the time to read my blog and for leaving great comments. Until next time......Happy Stitching! Deborah

Pretty in Pink and a Giveaway!

Thanks for all the lovely comments on my last blog post. They mean so much to me. I think Stella is a hit. On the stitching front, I just love the pink frame. I don't usually go this way but for a seasonal piece, I think it works well. My framer has a bunch of different colored frames that I will be using in the future.
Cheryl and I spent some time this week to do some finishing.
We put together May word play (I just love these designs), Sarah Tobias pin pillow. The chenille that it is laying on is what I will be putting on the edge. lastly is The Prim Sisters. Below is the back of the Prim Sisters.
This is my favorite finish! It is A Dutch Sewing Pillow by GPA. I bought the finishing kit. I couldn't be happier with it. All the pictures are clickable for a larger view.
I finished this today. It is Summer Splendor by LHN. I think a little red frame would look nice. I also finished Maxim and Zoya by PPS. I don't have a picture but will show it after I pick it up at the framer. I have just over 600 followers and that deserves a giveaway.
This is what I have so far. Two BBD designs, Bohin scissors, flower frog, ort container, a cute notepad and a little pillow made by me. I will probably add some more little things. The rules are just be a follower! You don't need to put it on your blog. Stella would like to add a treat if you have a dog or cat, so please let us know which you would prefer. I will pick a name on May 1st. Good Luck! Until next time...Happy Stitching! Deborah

A Little Bit of Everything.

I want to thank everyone for the wonderful comments on my last post. I just love them. I have started to put together a giveaway for having 600 followers, which just amazes me. I do know that the giveaway will include a flower frog , scissors and a little something made by me. There will be more, just don't know what yet. On to the stitching...
Finished up this little gem and am having it framed in a pink frame. Something different and very Spring like.
Had this piece stretched and I put it in my in and out frame.Below is a close up of the frame.
Stella is going to daycare 2 days a week for puppy socialization. They say she gets along wonderfully with people but is very shy around the other dogs so I decided to send her another day. She did much better on the second day. She will go 2 days a week for awhile. While she was gone I managed to get in alot of stitching time and some yard work. I finished the Prim Sisters piece. Cheryl will finish it when she comes home from Canada.
I also did this little piece that I can't wait to have finished. I really love this scissor pillow. I got the finishing lit so that the pillow will look just like the picture. So cute. >
Easter week end was quiet. I went out to brunch with friends and had some quality stitching time while watching last years Nurse Jackie series.
This is Blooms for Sarah from BBD. I love the design and it worked up quickly because you use just one floss. I did mine on 36 ct mystery LSL using the suggested SNC called Chocolate Caramel. So yummy. lol. You can click on any of the photos for a larger view. I did take a cooking class last Thursday night. They gave us a lovely dinner before class and then we made cupcakes! There were 10 women in the class and we worked in pairs. Joanne went with me.
We made chocolate cake filled with a peanut butter filling topped with chocolate gnache and crushed peanuts. They were awesome. The others made red velvet, carrot cake, lemonchello filled with homemade lemon curd and a chocolate vegan banana cake. We all took home everyone's cakes. It was a great time.
I will end with a picture of my baby. Isn't she cute? The bone she has in her mouth is one she can eat but she needs to carry it around awhile first. Thanks for visiting. My next post will have the giveaway. Until then....Happy Stitching! Deborah
